F.A.Q.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why would I want to talk to a stranger about my problems?

A: Think about this: your best friend was once someone you didn’t know at all. Pause and let that sink in. When we first meet and introduce ourselves, we’re moving from being strangers to starting a shared path in therapy together.

Q: What if I don’t like my provider?

A: We encourage open communication with your provider. They are professionals who understand the importance of honesty. If you feel comfortable, let us know why you’re dissatisfied, but if not, that’s okay too. We will connect you with another expert who may be a better fit for your needs. Your well-being is our primary concern, and we are committed to ensuring you receive the best care possible. Let’s work together to find the right solution for you.

Q: What services does Cultura Health offer?

A: We provide a variety of services aimed at supporting holistic well-being, such as mental health counseling, healthcare, educational programs, wellness initiatives, housing support, and more. While we offer these diverse services, our current emphasis is primarily on our behavioral and mental health services. Visit our services page for detailed information.

Q: Do you serve clients outside of the Houston area?

A: Yes, we do! While Cultura Health is headquartered in Houston, TX, and has locations in Atlanta, GA, and Cleveland, OH, our sessions are currently offered virtually. This means we can support clients from anywhere in the world. Whether you’re in another city, state, or even a different country, you can access our services and join our programs from the comfort of your own home. We’re here to provide compassionate care and support, no matter where you are.

Q: I can go to my friends or family for help for free, why would I pay someone for that?

A: While friends and family can be great sources of support, they might not have the training needed to properly address mental health issues, and they are not required to maintain confidentiality.

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: We are in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, Humana, Magellan, and United Healthcare/Optum. Members are welcome to use their out-of-network benefits as well. Please note that benefits will need to be verified before the initial appointment to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for you.

If you have any questions about your coverage or the verification process, feel free to reach out to us. We’re here to help you navigate your options and ensure you receive the care you need.

Q: Do you accept uninsured/underinsured clients?

A: Absolutely! Our Affordable Therapy Program was designed with your needs in mind. At Cultura Health, we believe everyone should have access to mental health services, regardless of income. We are committed to offering dependable and accessible care to all individuals seeking support. Your well-being is our priority, and we are dedicated to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder you from accessing the care you deserve.

Q: How long are therapy sessions?

A: A: Therapy sessions are typically scheduled once a week and last between 45 to 55 minutes. However, the duration and frequency can be tailored to fit each individual’s needs. Treatment may range from just a few sessions to several years, depending on your therapeutic goals and progress. Our aim is to provide a personalized approach to ensure you receive the support you need at every stage of your journey.
